Example: TWO steer’s different breeds, TWO heifer’s different breeds. However the combination is on TWO animals same combination of two through out the year, you can not substitute animals in this combination.  See Rule #12
  3. Awards will be presented during the KCCA Awards Banquet, which will be held at the end of the year.

POINTS SYSTEM

  1. Points shall be earned on the following basis in order to qualify members of the KCCA to receive yearly awards in each division.  Points will be accumulated starting and ending with the official KCCA Schedule Calendar.  Remember, points will not count until DUES ARE PAID. Members must attend at least 4 shows to earn Champion Breed awards.
  2. Points will be accumulated at all Sanctioned Shows and recorded in class, individually, based on the number of animals that are actually shown in the class.  The KCCA will not be responsible for “NO SHOWS” at the gate.  Members will receive only the exact number of points as indicated in the point table.
  3. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to classify his or her animal at the animal’s first Competition. The animals first Competition will designate the breed division for the entire year in which points can be awarded. YOU the exhibitor has, 30 days from the date of your first competition to notify the secretary of the classification.  If you as a member change the breed selection, you forfeit all points accumulated up to that show.
  4. A copy of registration papers or steer certificates must be sent to Norma Groth by May 1st of the show year, along with steer 4-H tag number.  Failure to adhere to this deadline is in violation, and member will forfeit all points.
  5. Bonus points are kept by the KCCA for each breed and reserve breed Champion at each sanctioned Show.  A member shall receive 5 points more than any other animal in the breed for Breed Champion and the Reserve shall receive 2 less points than the breed champion to be added to his or her point standing in that particular breed category.
  6. When classes are mixed (Example: Angus, Brangus, Chianina) points will be awarded to the individual exhibitor based upon the breed which the animal was officially entered on the Official Entry Form, for that particular show.  If that animal is reclassified upon arrival at the show by the official classifier, no points will be awarded.
  7. In the steer Division, individual members may only be awarded points by exhibiting steers that are owned by said exhibitor.  “Loaned Out” steers may not be used to accumulate points.
  8. In the Heifer division, individual members may only be awarded points by exhibiting heifers that are owned by said exhibitor.  Registered heifers must be registered in the name of the exhibitor.
  9. In either division, Steer or Heifers must be entered in the name of the individual KCCA member and must be shown by the member (see rule #11 in the General rules & regulation section) in order for the points to be accumulated in his or her name.
  10. Participants in the KCCA heifer division program will be able to exhibit registered animals depending upon rules and regulations of the individual KCCA sanctioned heifer show.
  11. All steers are required to have an official Kansas ear tag.  To ensure proper tabulation of points it is the EXHIBITOR’S responsibility to ensure that the ear tag number is recorded on the official entry Form.  Tattoos or registration numbers may be used until weigh-in to get tags. All TAG numbers are to be reported to the KCCA Secretary by MAY 1st of the year points are tabulated in.
  12. Once points have been recorded on an individual member within any one of the breed divisions, for steer or heifer division competition, those points are nontransferable to any other breed division.  Incorrect breed information is the fault of the EXHIBITOR and the KCCA will assume no responsibility therefore, recorded results will not be changed.
  13. Only the top 2 steers and or heifers exhibited per show, per member will count toward point standings.
  14. Any time a member or non-member violates a rule the following action will be taken: They will lose all points, premiums and awards for the day.
